چکیده

Versatile Video Coding (VVC) is the next generation video coding standard finalized in July 2020. VVC introduces new tools enhancing efficiency compared to its predecessor High Efficiency (HEVC). These have a significant impact on software decoder complexity estimated 2 times HEVC complexity. In particular, transform module includes separable and non-separable transforms named Multiple Transform Selection (MTS) Low Frequency Non-Separable (LFNST) tools, respectively. this paper, we present an area-efficient hardware architecture of inverse for decoder. The proposed design uses total 64 regular multipliers pipelined targeting Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) platforms. It consists multi-standard that supports modules recent MPEG standards including Advanced (AVC), VVC. leverages all primary secondary transforms’ optimisations butterfly decomposition, coefficients zeroing inherent linear relationship between transforms. synthesized results show method sustains constant throughput 1 sample per cycle latency block sizes. operates at 600 MHz frequency enabling decode real-time 4K 30 frames second 4:2:2 chroma sub-sampling format. has been integrated ASIC UHD energy-aware decoding videos consumer devices.

Lightweight 4x4 MDS Matrices for Hardware-Oriented Cryptographic Primitives

Linear diffusion layer is an important part of lightweight block ciphers and hash functions. This paper presents an efficient class of lightweight 4x4 MDS matrices such that the implementation cost of them and their corresponding inverses are equal. The main target of the paper is hardware oriented cryptographic primitives and the implementation cost is measured in terms of the required number ...

Integer Cosine Transform for HD Video Coding

High-Definition (HD) videos often contain rich details as well as large homogeneous regions. To exploit such a property, Variable Block-size Transforms (VBT) should be in place so that transform block size can adapt to local activities. In this paper, we propose a 16×16 Integer Cosine Transform (ICT) for HD video coding, which is simple and efficient. This 16×16 ICT is integrated into the AVS Z...

Controlled temporal Haar transform for video coding

In the context of video coding, temporal wavelets represent an interesting approach because of their low complexity, encoder-decoder symmetry and multiresolution nature. However, their use at low bit-rate is limited by severe artifacts called “ghost” artifacts. In this paper we propose a controlled temporal wavelet transform which overcomes these artifacts and enables the practical use of tempo...

Transform Domain Residual Coding Technique for Distributed Video Coding

Due to its lightweight encoder architecture, the Distributed Video Coding (DVC) concept has been seen as an attractive alternative to its conventional counterparts for a number of applications. Exceptionally low computational complexity has been achieved by moving redundancy exploitation to the decoder. However, going against this norm, redundancy exploitation techniques such as DCT transform a...

Compressed Domain Scene Change Detection Based on Transform Units Distribution in High Efficiency Video Coding Standard

Scene change detection plays an important role in a number of video applications, including video indexing, searching, browsing, semantic features extraction, and, in general, pre-processing and post-processing operations. Several scene change detection methods have been proposed in different coding standards. Most of them use fixed thresholds for the similarity metrics to determine if there wa...
